about

This song was recorded exactly once, with two vocal takes, to four-track casette in July 1997. In May 2020 I transferred the tracks directly from the four-track deck onto the computer, patching together one coherent vocal from the two takes. It was meant as a sketch, made so that I wouldn't forget the rhythm and rough lyrics, and as such it was never intended for public consumption. Having said that, I still feel there's a special spontaneous quality to the recording that, despite the many flaws and missed notes, makes it a favourite of mine.
