about

I put together this compilation, with the help of my Foundry collaborators, to try and give a sense of what the label was about and as a way to celebrate our first five years of releases. It was important to me that these sets work as a coherent album on it's own, and I think Lost & Found achieved that goal. Also cool is the fact that the album includes a bunch of tracks that are otherwise unreleased. If you are curious about the more ambient/electronica side of The Foundry, this is the release for you. - Michael Bentley

Press release:
A two disc compilation giving a glimpse into both the past and present activities of The Foundry. The first CD (Lost) gathers some of the highlights from the Foundry's early releases, including a specially re-recorded version of Above the Earth, to produce a disc of introspective ambient styles. Disc two (Found, which contains five tracks drawn from discs co-released with Hypnos and seven non-album and unreleased tracks) provides an unique insight into the state of The Foundry five years into it's life as a music label.

Reviews:

"What a great compilation this is... If you've wondered about the various releases on this label and been afraid to check them out, this would be an excellent way to go about it." Phil Derby, Electroambient Space

"This double CD provides a perfect introduction to The Foundry and its aural philosophy." Greg Clow, Grooves magazine
