Import

by eM (M. Bentley)

supported by
  • Compact Disc (CD)

I have a few copies of this EP, from a worldwide edition of 250, so it is now pretty hard to find. Description follows.

Import is eM's (M. Bentley) contribution to the invalidObject series issued by the Fällt label. Each of the 15 one-minute tracks draws on samples and ideas that weave together a kind of symphony or soundtrack, forming one larger piece. The tracks can be played straight through as composed, or shuffled to reorient the narrative.

Fällt described the series thusly: "invalidObject is a sublabel of Fällt established to release a finite and self-contained series of 3" CD releases. Each 3" CD will be housed in a full-size clear jewel-case with two-colour (black + metallic) packaging and limited to 100 copies only. There will be 24 releases in the invalidObject series limited to the original 24 JavaScript reserved words (break; case; comment; continue; default; delete; do; else; export; for; function; if; import; in; label; new; return; switch; this; typeof; var; void; while; with). Each release will follow the same structure; 15 tracks x 60 seconds each (to enable fast, painless downloads, and to fit comfortably onto the 3" CDRs), and so the full release will comprise 360 tracks (24 artists x 15 tracks each)."

    TRACKLIST: 1. Port of Origin (1:00); 2. 1st Movement (1:00); 3. 2nd Movement (1:00); 4. 3rd Movement (1:00); 5. 4th Movement (1:00); 6. 5th Movement (1:00); 7. 6th Movement (1:00); 8. 7th Movement (1:00); 9. 8th Movement (1:00); 10. 9th Movement (1:00); 11. 10th Movement (1:00); 12. 11th Movement (1:00); 13. 12th Movement (1:00); 14. Port of Call (1:00); 15. Epilogue (1:00)
